THE CAMP

Iceland's All-Inclusive Luxury Tented Camp

Sörla is a high-end, all-inclusive tented camp that combines modern Scandinavian design with echoes of Icelandic nature, inviting guests into an experience that is at once luxurious and in harmony with the breathtaking nature of Iceland. Exterior structures on the property are made of custom-cut larch, and the black hue of the roof and Danish-made windows recall the shine of obsidian, a volcanic glass.

Across the camp, you’ll see elements inspired by natural geometric basalt column formations found across Iceland. Illuminated columns guide your way into the camp in the darker months, and the outdoor hot and cold pools also feature basalt column designs.

Tipi Tent Accommodation

Our luxury tipis, designed in Sweden and inspired by Såmi culture, ensure an authentic camping feeling without sacrificing comfort. Air shafts allow for good ventilation and refreshing Icelandic air, but several levels of heating options allow for comfort in any weather. Touches of Icelandic wool add warmth to keep you cozy, even on chilly winter nights, and you can don a top-quality dry robe for an extra layer of protection from the elements when you venture outside.

Unique Accommodations

The campsite features four large luxury glamping tents, each elegantly furnished with upscale amenities, featuring a Nordic-inspired design that combines comfort with sophisticated style. Just a short walk away from the tipis, you’ll find Sörla Baths, where guests are invited to unwind in a complete wellness experience, enjoying the warmth of the sauna and the tranquility of soaking in the hot tub, under the stars and the northern-lights.

A Place Made for your comfort

Sörla's Architecture & Sustainable Design

Sörla’s interiors feature a style that is modern yet warm, with colors reflecting the hues of Iceland’s natural color palette and design choices that reflect our dual values of luxury and sustainability. Our tipis tents are furnished with top-quality beds from Jensen, where you’ll rest easy not only because they’re so comfortable but also because they conform to the highest sustainability standards. In the morning, you’ll wake to the feeling of sunshine warming the tipi, bringing you that nostalgic camping feeling – without any of the extra work or inconveniences of traditional camping.

The camp’s buildings feature elements of both oak and American walnut, providing a warm contrast to the grey Italian tile and reflecting the symbiosis of Iceland’s natural elements of fire and ice. The bathhouse, sauna, and service center feature floor heating that keeps your feet toasty warm even on the coldest winter days.

The kitchen where our on-site chef will prepare personalized meals for you throughout your stay features German design and is outfitted with top-notch Miele appliances. Countertops are made of Dekton, a revolutionary new material that’s made of 100% recycled materials, scratch- and heat-resistant, and is produced in a carbon-neutral manner.

We want staying at Sörla Camp, to be a feast for all the senses, so we’ve worked with local fragrance makers to ensure that our custom-made organic skin-care products will envelop you in an olfactory experience inspired by the natural world around you.

The Gazebo

The Gazebo is a versatile and inviting space where guests can dine or relax. It features sliding doors that can be opened or closed to suit the weather, ensuring perfect comfort. The area is heated and includes a long gas fireplace that separates the lounge and dining table, creating two distinct spaces within the winter garden. The outside dining table, made of American walnut, and the lounge area provide ample seating. Adjustable side screens offer protection from the wind, making it an ideal space to wind down in the evening.

Campfire & Fireplaces

Two outdoor fireplaces add extra warmth and ambiance in chilly weather. One is tripod-style, while the other is a more rustic pit fireplace dug into the ground where you can warm your hands and even roast marshmallows or Icelandic hot dogs.

Sörla’s third fireplace is located in one of the most stunning spaces on the property. The gazebo, made of Icelandic spruce, features expansive windows that allow you to take in sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. Sliding doors can be opened in warmer weather to create a hybrid indoor-outdoor space and closed for protection from the elements on cooler days.
